Ok. Let’s start by saying, best song title. ‘Truly Madly Sleeply’ delivers some Savage Gardens puns and we’re here for it. The Flowers have debuted their latest track in delicious indie rock style. Still in their infancy, Sydney-based trio have returned with one of the strongest concoction yet.
Opening with a gorgeous glissando, the track falls somewhere between Jungle Giants and I Know Leopard in vibe. In that pop infused indie rock world. What a world it is. ‘Truly Madly Sleeply’ was created in amongst “a years worth of travelling around, suffering from chronic jet lag and unrequited affection”.
A seriously catchy tune, with a belter of a hook. This serves some Splendour mid-afternoon in the sun vibes, and you’re going to love it. I just know that I’ll be belting ‘Truly Madly Sleeply’ from the window of my car come summer.
After performing in other bands, and solo projects, band members Agnes O’Dwyer, Dylan Clark, and Leighton Cauchi have come together to form something great. The Flowers are off to a gorgeous start - delivering that perfect balance of easy listening and a heck of a lot of fun. Keep an eye out for this crew.
