BIGSOUND is one of Australia's biggest internationally reknowned showcase festivals for new talent! Let's take our last few peeks behind the purple curtain with the festival coming up hot next week.
Greta Stanley is a unique singer-songwriter whose toasty indie-folk style isn't genre-bound. She has supported the likes of Tash Sultana, Ziggy Alberts and Didirri, as well as appearing at festivals such as Groovin’ The Moo. She recently released single 'Pour' alongside a stunning music video which stars Matt Okine and a talented Brisbane dancer.
Where are you from?
Mena creek, Queensland - living in cairns now!
How would you describe your sound in three words?
Honest and always changing
Who or what would you consider your three biggest influences?
The weather, surroundings, connections - these all influence my writing and story telling.
What made you want to play Bigsound?
Because it’s an opportunity any musician would be excited to have, you get to showcase your music to new fans and industry professionals alike. You make new connections and you also get to soak into a week of doing and being surrounded by what you love, music!
What element of your music or live act are you most looking forward to sharing with the crowd at Bigsound?
Brand new sounds, an element of electronic music mixed with real instruments, stepping away from the guitar and being able to move on stage.
Who would be your dream act to tour with?
Jamie T, I love that man and his music.
What does the next three years hold in store for you?
Hopefully an album, international touring, sustainable success and collaborations.
