Multi-talented Melbourne drummer turned singer-songwriter, Georgia Filpo, a.k.a G Flip has just released her new single, ‘I Am Not Afraid.’ This comes after dropping her two singles ‘Drink Too Much’ and ‘Bring Me Home’ which have hit over 5 million streams on Spotify. G Flip’s rise has landed her the opportunity to work with producer Ariel Rechtsaid (HAIM, Vampire Weekend). “It was always a dream to work with him since I pissed my pants in a HAIM mosh," says Flipo.
“Everyone has roadblocks in life, tough situations that are hard to get through and the only way to overcome them is to say ‘I Am Not Afraid’. Whether it’s getting out of a toxic relationship, coming out to your family or getting bullied. Life throws shit at you and you have to be brave. You have to stand tall and rise above it.”
What we love about the 23-year-old musician is that she doesn’t shy away from speaking her mind. Her songs are raw and real and just like her past two singles, ‘I Am not Afraid’ sends an empowering message to never let yourself fall without remembering you are strong enough to pick yourself up. And seriously, who out there doesn’t need an anthem that preaches inner strength to get us through all the highs and lows that life throws at us? Just like G Flip, the new single is badass!
The release comes just before G Flip begins her Australia wide tour with Groovin’ the Moo Festival 2019.
