Much Love for Tara's 'No Love'

Updated: Aug 23, 2019

"I don't wanna be the girl who's left behind when all your mess has been cleaned..."

There's a sense of recklessness intertwined within the intricate lyrics of "No Love". It pulsates with a maturity and innocence that garners TARA the audience she deserves in her first ever single. Getting heartbroken is no easy feat; writing about a friend's experience is reserved only for the ones who dare.

“I didn’t realise I could write a song about what others were going through. I just kept thinking about the girls, women in my life that had been used and abused in relationships and how I had to see them suffer and not know how to help. The song really highlights what women tend to do to make a relationship work and how it makes them feel when it’s over."

The singer-songwriter from Melbourne paints the belief that there is no love left in this world. Her tactful words effortlessly deliver a reflective tone to hindsight. The song hints at an Ellie Goulding-like lead vocal topped with Vera Blue's style.

In the words of TARA, "'No Love' was written after watching a best friend get her heart broken by a guy she thought loved her. The song explores the point of view from the girl's perspective." It's the hurt she feels after finding out that once again, she has only been emotionally abused. The melody skips in with a sardonic smile and leaves you broken, but wanting more.
