Nothing 'Irrational' About Loving Erthlings

Sydney’s own Erthlings have returned to the music scene strong with hypnotic and groovy track ‘Irrational’. The band have decided to throw a graduation party for themselves at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on 11 December. The textured guitars, airy vocals and earthy backing work together seamless to create an alt hit.

Erthlings is made of four childhood friends who have been making music together since they were 12. Even musically, its clear they've been working together for a long time - a group of individual creatives - ultimately a part of the same whole, with the same goal of expressing themselves through their music. This year, they’ve found themselves at their year of high school graduation – a time that has always been surrounded with uncertainty, even more so during a pandemic. ‘Irrational’ is the track that they’ve made to propel their career forward in a time where nothing makes sense.

The band shares the meaning behind the song, and their excitement to release it, “’Irrational’ is about feeling like you’ve overreacted in a situation and acknowledging that you took things the wrong way and we wanted to portray the range of emotions and thought processes that accompany these experiences. As 2020 progresses we feel ‘Irrational’ is a strong reflection of how many people feel today, including us as we attempt to finish high school during a pandemic! During this difficult and stressful time, we’ve been lucky enough to be able to produce a video (with the help of an amazing team!) that reflects the emotions carried throughout the song and also shows the more energetic and playful side of us as a band. We’re so incredibly proud of the song and video and we can’t wait for people to see it!”.

Talent backed up with praise from The New York Times, triple j, FBi Radio, Beats 1 with Matt Wilkinson and many more, Erthlings have managed to set the stage for a stellar future.
