Sweet Gold have given us a taste of what’s to come with their latest single ‘Heart of Mine’. Said to have been “born on Valentine’s Day”, this hook-driven banger is set to romance listeners with it’s infectious garage pop sound.
The Melbourne rockers draw upon a range of influences from garage rock to soul and have been charming audiences on their most recent tour, finishing in Melbourne last week. This is all in the lead up to their forthcoming full-length release Here’s To Feeling Good All The Time.
‘Heart of Mine’ will capture those with an affinity for nostalgia with it’s Gallagher-esque chords and easy sing-along lyrics. This song was destined to be an anthem before it was even released; it simply oozes hope and conviction. It was integral to the band that the track sounded “as close to the live show as possible” and you can’t help but imagine that you’re there, even in the comfort of wherever you’re listening. While structurally it may not be the most complex, it’s the attitude and energy woven into the song that really drives it forward.
Here’s To Feeling Good All The Time is set to be “a triumphant collection of songs about love and lust, heartbreaks and hip shakes, exotic destinations and butterflies in your chest” so keep your eyes and ears open for that. You can check out ‘Heart of Mine’ below!
