The ARIAs have announced they have partnered with YouTube Music to deliver a special edition live broadcast of the 2020 ARIA Awards on November 25th. The ceremony will be held at The Star Event Centre in Sydney and broadcast across Australia on the Nine Network. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no physical audience.
The 2020 Aria Awards Season Launch will be presented online in October, where the 2020 ARIA nominees will be revealed. The YouTube Premier event will be hosted on the ARIA YouTube channel, presented by Brooke Boney. The Fine Arts and Artisan ARIA Awards will be awarded on the same day.
ARIA has also partnered with the NSW Government to create a new music event: Great Southern Nights. This initiative will be delivered by Destination NSW to bring 1000 gigs showcasing established, emerging and local Australian artists, across NSW venues.

There is no doubt that our music industry has been impacted, first by the bushfires and then by the COVID-19 crisis, and ARIA has been working hard to ensure we are supporting Australia’s artists in their time of need. With this year’s ARIA Awards, we want to celebrate the resilience, strength, and camaraderie that our artists and the music industry have shown throughout 2020, and celebrate the successes of the Australian music industry, both locally and on the global stage. Australia’s music industry is a passionate and determined community, and we can’t wait to showcase that on this night of nights.”
2020 has put the music industry to the test like never before. Despite this year’s many challenges, the music community has persevered with creativity and tenacity. It’s wonderful to see ARIA push forward to celebrate the Australian music scene the way it deserves.
