It’s no secret that we are eagerly awaiting the return of QMusic’s BIGSOUND for 2020 and this year’s event has never been more important, providing essential industry connection for the music community during COVID-19.
This year, BIGSOUND will be 100% virtual, but that has not stopped the event from finding a way to showcase the most anticipated up-and-coming artists with the announcement of the #BIGSOUND50.
BIGSOUND are shining a spotlight on the next assortment of emerging music talent, handpicking 50 of the hottest new acts in Australia right now. These talented artists have the opportunity to be part of BIGSOUND’s famous networking program, receiving coverage across BIGSOUND platforms as well as mentoring, online meetings and opportunities to further their music career and future pathways over the next year.
A sweeping scope of genres are represented within the #BIGSOUND50, from hard-hitting hip-hop from rapper BIRDZ to the coastal energy of indie-folk duo The Dreggs as well as electronic dance-hall pop from The Merindas.
These 50 artists are definitely ones to watch and find themselves in very good company, with BIGSOUND's previous showcases helping kick-off the careers of some now very well-known Australian artists including Tones and I, Private Function, Spacey Jane and Japanese Wallpaper, just to name a few.
