Bakers Eddy Confront The New Year With New Single ‘21’

Marking their return into the 2021 music-scape, Bakers Eddy are diving in with single ‘21’. The track explores more than just the notion of the future but delves into the universality of having to let go of the past.

‘21’ asserts itself as a relatable coming-of-age soundtrack, discussing the uncertainty of growing up, acting as a homage to what was left behind. These ideals are only matched by the cathartic lyricism and anthemic vocals- laying bare a vulnerability and imparting this communal sense of longing. Despite this, there's a hopeful undertone throughout the song that prevails, as if an excitement for the unknown journeys that may yet come as a part of growing up.

“To me it symbolises the shift from teenage innocence to adult ‘bullshit’ and all the fear, excitement and uncertainty that goes with a major change like that.” says lead singer, Ciarann Babbington

‘21’ was one of the many songs the band worked on in the absence of shows, making 2021 a year of exciting releases.

With the allowance of some live gigs to return, Bakers Eddy have also jumped on this opportunity to announce a coinciding single launch. These shows are set to not only promote their latest single, but continue to assert Bakers Eddy as a prominent Aussie act.
