Our favourite busker-turned nationwide superstar continues their run of exciting singles in 2020. With a colourful horn section, slick bass lines and that classic hazy Tash Sultana guitarwork, this latest offering is irresistibly smooth.
It features up-and-coming vocalist Jerome Farah, who burst onto the scene earlier this year with his politically charged debut single 'I Can't Breathe' and its follow-up 'Mikey Might', after making a name for himself as a songwriter working with the likes of Baker Boy and KIAN.
Farah's soulful vocals sound right at home over this funky instrumental, and even better harmonising with Tash Sultana. The two display strong chemistry on the track, with a connection that dates back to their high school days, have attended the same school. And they both share a great appreciation for each other's work.
"I’m a really big fan of what he does," Tash said. "Get acquainted with this guy because 12 months from now, he’s going to be the thing."
"See, I always knew Tash was fire but being in studio really showed me," said Farah. "You guys really don’t understand how talented this human is... Literally played every instrument on this track while I sat back in awe. So if real recognise real, then this puts a pause on my doubts."
Tash also announced the release date of their highly anticipated sophomore album Terra Firma, which is set to arrive Friday, 19 February 2021. 'Willow Tree' becomes the fourth single from the upcoming album, following the previously released 'Pretty Lady', 'Greed' and 'Beyond the Pine'.
These singles have given us a great taste of the record and we're eager for more. Terra Firma is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Australian releases of 2021.
